The Power of Colour Correcting

Hello! Once again I hope that I find you well. I am doing well and thank you for stopping by. So my last article was about using less makeup. So after I wrote it I started to think of the reasons why sometimes one might feel the need to apply layer upon layer of makeup. One significant reason that I thought of was the need to cover blemishes, scars, hyper pigmentation or under eye dark circles. I remember a time when I was also very conscious of the blemishes on my face. They just wouldn’t go away no matter what I did. Then I came across something called colour correcting. When I heard about it , I thought wow this could be good for me. Surprisingly, I was right!

When I first  found out about it, I found that a lot of people with my skin tone (brown with a red/orange undertone) were raving about the LA Girl Orange corrector. I then decided to give it a try. Initially, I was a bit intimidated by the colour because it’s so orange and pigmented. But once I applied it my blemishes disappeared, literally. It was like they never existed. And of course the trick is not to apply too much and also to blend. Blending is very important or else it will crease when you apply your foundation or concealer. But the result was phenomenal. There are a lot of other colour correctors out there, but so far I have only used the LA Girl Orange corrector and it has been amazing.

One thing to note though is that your skin undertone determines the colour corrector that you use. Someone with a warm undertone like myself will do well with an orange corrector. If your undertone is more yellow then a yellow corrector will be good for you. Cooler undertones will need a green colour corrector. Word of advice, if you are having difficulbties with blemishes, a colour corrector will certainly help.

XO
